Behind the wheel of the office
Meet Leah, the heart of our office at LEADER Worldwide Chauffeured Services. As our Office Manager, she’s the go-to person for ensuring everything runs smoothly, from coordinating team efforts to providing exceptional service to our clients. Leah’s attention to detail and ability to juggle multiple tasks at once keeps our operations organized and efficient, allowing us to focus on delivering the best chauffeur experience possible. Let’s take a closer look at the person who keeps us all on track!
Q: First, what is your go-to karaoke song when no one’s watching (or even when they are)?
Q: What’s one movie or TV show you could watch over and over without getting tired of it?
A: Remember the Titans and Legally Blonde
Q: What’s your background, and how did you get into the role of Office Manager at LEADER Worldwide Chauffeur Services?
A: I was in the Car Wash Industry for 15+ years. I started as an hourly employee out of college and worked my way up through the company to be the first female GM of that company. I was with that company for 12 years. Later I partnered with local developers to start a new Carwash company, from the ground up, in 2020. That was an eye opening and challenging experience and I learned many valuable lessons.
I learned about LEADER through a regular customer of mine at the carwash. She was a Chauffeur and talked highly of LEADER and what she did. She told me, if I ever wanted a career change, to talk to her. After many interactions, I got curious. I put together a cover letter and sent my resume. After a series of interviews, here I am. I’m ready to learn a new industry and to bring my team building skills to this face-paced work environment.
Q: What’s your favorite local Kansas City spot for a bite to eat or to hang out?
Q: LEADER operates in Kansas City and over 1,000 cities worldwide. How do you keep everything running smoothly on a global scale from your office?
A: Lots of Communication and attention to details.
Q: How do you describe your job to your friends?
A: We drive fancy people around- But seriously. The office (reservations) has to make sure that everyone else is set up to succeed. If we don’t do our jobs correctly, dispatch can do their jobs and the chauffeurs dont have the tools they need. We have to be detail focused.
Q: We know LEADER focuses on a premium, safe, and comfortable experience for clients. How do you ensure that this standard is met from an administrative standpoint?
A: Again details. If we miss a detail on the reservations, dispatch could send the wrong car and then the chauffeur looks bad. We must pay attention to the details and ask questions if we don’t know.
Q: You’re a big sports fan! How do you bring that same passion and teamwork you love in sports to your role here?
A: I want to lead by example. If I mess up, I own it, learn from it and move forward. I want my team to do the same thing. As a team, we must help each other. If someone is strong in an area, let the person help. We must also be willing to take feedback. That is how we grow. I like to think I am a “players” coach. We can talk about the issues and discuss solutions and move forward. I don’t want to be a “my way or the highway” coach. And I won’t yell, like most football coach’s do 🙂
Q: If you had to compare the office team at LEADER to a sports team, what sport would it be and why?
A: This is a very interesting question and one I have thought about a lot. I know everything about Soccer but I think we are a soccer team. My thoughts are on a Soccer team, you have players that run around everywhere, score goals and are really really in shape lol. Then you have players that stay more around the center of the field, they have to be aware of where the ball is but aren’t running all over the place (I mean they are still running, it is soccer lol) then you have the goalie. The goalie defends and protects the goal. This player has to have great awareness, detail oriented and focus. A soccer team does have superstars but it really is a team sport. You have to have good pieces to succeed.
Q: If you could plan the perfect game day—either watching your favorite sport or playing it—what would that look like?
A: Going to a Football game, tailgating, being with friends and a win. I am really excited to take my daughter to her first football game!
Q: If you could describe your job using only emojis, which ones would you choose?
🤩💪🏾😬🤦🏽♀️🎊❤️
Q: If you could give your 10-year-old self one piece of advice, what would it be?
